IMO course "Women in port management" - Le Havre, France
Are you a professional woman of a Port and / or Maritime Authority of a member country of the International Maritime Organization? This information on the IMO port management and operations courses, organized by IPER in partnership with HAROPA PORT, is for you.
This training, implemented by the International Maritime Organisation, responds to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5 on gender equality).
The IMO has developed long-standing partnerships to provide specific, high-level and easily accessible training courses for women in the maritime sector in developing countries.
Over the years, IPER has created a favourable context and environment for capacity building and career development in maritime administrations, ports and maritime training institutes.
Each year, in partnership with HAROPA PORT, two intensive two-week seminars are organised by IPER for professionals from maritime and port authorities in developing countries. These seminars aim to improve the management and operational efficiency of their ports.

IMO advanced course "Port Operations and Management" - Le Havre
Are you an executive of a Port and / or Maritime Authority of a member country of the International Maritime Organization? If you are interested in a 5-week advanced course on port operations and management, this information is for you.
Lectures are delivered on a variety of port matters including, port organization and challenges, port technology and information system, security, marketing, tariffs and logistics as well as facilitation of maritime traffic, ship/port interface and concession contracts. Visits are usually organized to the Port of Le Havre and the Port of Rouen, enabling the participants to experience for themselves the day-to-day operations of a port, with a view to applying this knowledge back in their respective countries.
Through a 33 year-partnership with the Institut Portuaire d'Enseignement et de Recherche (IPER) and the Grand Port Maritime du Havre (GPMH), a 5-week course on port operations and management aimed at high-level officials and decision-makers from maritime and/or port authorities and/or administrations of developing countries, takes place every year at IPER, Le Havre, France.
The course, which is mainly sponsored by IMO, the French port Administration and the Port and Maritime Union of Le Havre, gathers 20 participants from Anglophone and Francophone countries (10 in each group), and provides them with knowledge to improve management and operational efficiency of their ports. The lectures are delivered in both English and French on a variety of port matters, including shipping and port economy, port organization, ship call operations and management, port security, port technology and information systems, port works and maintenance, port marketing and port environment.
