Dr Lotfi Karoui now the new Paris Campus Director
Research and Faculty
Dr Lotfi Karoui, a lecturer-researcher in Strategy, Governance & Entrepreneurship at EM Normandy since 2012, has taken up a new position as our Campus Director in Paris, to replace Nathalie Nicol as she has now left the institution. His mission is to apply the School's strategy at the Campus level, to support its development and to guarantee excellence in the programmes offered there.
Dr Haraoui joined our School in 2012 as a lecturer-researcher in Strategy, Governance & Entrepreneurship, and was the Head of the Cooperative Track for the Grande Ecole Programme from 2012 to 2017, and also the Head of the Department of Strategy & Entrepreneurship from 2015 to 2017. Earlier in his career, he had been the Director of Strategic Research & Development for Groupe ESC Troyes.
Dr Haraoui holds a PhD in Management Sciences from Université Paris-Sorbonne, and specialises in governance bodies, for SMEs in particular. He has published in several scientific journals such as the International Small Business Journal, Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, or Journal of African Business.
In his new capacity, he will retain his lecturing and researching activities, which are essential to maintain academic qualification, understand the issues Faculty are faced with, and raise academic excellence.
‘Taking over the management of this Campus is a major challenge in view of its strategic location, right on the doorstep of the headquarters of major companies and research centres, and its growth since it opened in 2013. From fifty students at the start to 630 this year, ranging from the Grande Ecole Programme (PGE) in Year 1 after the Baccalauréat, to our MS and MSc Graduate Programmes', Dr Karoui explains.
In order to welcome its students in the best conditions, EM Normandie undertook Campus extension work last summer. In these 2,800 m² premises sited in the heart of the Paris 16th District, the School now enjoys an extra floor and a brand-new cafeteria. 28 staff members (including 10 Faculty members) work there, compared to 17 in 2016.
