EM Normandie Foundation launches a website and a naming campaign

School's life

Founded in 2016 on the initiative of several alumni, EM Normandie Foundation is launching both its Internet website and a naming campaign for areas on the Caen, Le Havre and Paris campuses, directed at private donors, companies and Alumni. The aim is to enhance its visibility and raise funds to support its projects and accompany the growth of EM Normandie.

"Since 2004, EM Normandie has increased fourfold its student and staff numbers, raised the academic level of its Faculty, opened new programmes, launched 3 sponsored research chairs, opened 3 new campuses (Paris, Oxford and Dublin) and enhanced its international profile. However, keener and keener competition now demands a higher level of differentiation. As our baseline puts it, "Let’s build the future together", the mission of EM Normandie Foundation is to support all such evolutions and to allow the School to take a big step again by putting Equal Opportunity, Academic Excellence and Entrepreneurship at the heart of its actions", EM Normandie Director General Jean-Guy Bernard explains.

A website to show the Foundation’s actions and ambitions

An ideal link between donors and EM Normandie, the website displays the Foundation's triple ambition:

  • To foster equal opportunity by awarding study grants. The aim is to facilitate admission to the School for all deserving students in difficult financial circumstances. This priority axis now accounts for 75% of its spendings.

  • To promote academic excellence, pedagogical innovation and top level research, focused on the issues facing business organisations: organising events, awarding prizes, grants and subsidies to lecturers-researchers, supporting three sponsored chairs created in 2018 and 2019 (« Entrepreneurial Models in Agriculture », « Digital Management Transformation » and « Competencies, Employability and HR Decision Making »).

  • To encourage entrepreneurial spirit and Innovation, by supporting innovative and value creating projects, for the benefit of teaching and students, adapted to the stakes of the transformation of business organisations and society, in particular the student incubator at Institut de l’Innovation et du Développement de l’Entrepreneuriat (InsIDE).

Giving your name to a lecture hall, a classroom or a recreation area

As presented on the home page of the EM Normandie Foundation website, the naming campaign chooses to capitalise on Alumni esprit de corps  - a strong indicator of the School – by offering students, Alumni  and business partners the opportunity to give their names, or that of their firms, to a classroom, an armchair in a lecture hall, a co-working area or an evergreen oak-tree recently planted on the School’s future campus in Le Havre.
Some areas on the Caen, Le Havre and Paris campuses may thus be renamed for 10 or 25 years. To this end, donors choose their campuses, visit each floor and select an area. Several Alumni who are strongly engaged in the School, have already positioned themselves around an area that bears their names. The campaign will soon be extended to the Oxford and Dublin campuses. This is an original way to support the School’s projects and leave one’s mark within the institution while enjoying tax benefits (reduction in income tax, tax on properties or corporate tax).

A big fundraising drive organised on ʺGiving Tuesdayʺ

On 3 December 2019, on the occasion of the Global Generosity Day, the ʺGiving Tuesdayʺ, EM Normandie Foundation organised a fundraiser on the School’s campuses jointly with the EMiens Philantropes student society. Students and staff were invited to make a donation to render admission to the School easier for deserving students in difficult circumstances thanks to grants. Several thousand euros were thus collected.
