EM Normandie supports ‘Vikings AD 99’ and the Ornavik Park in Hérouville-Saint-Clair
School's life
EM Normandie has decided to support the ‘Vikings AD 99’ association, which since 2001 has been developing the Ornavik historic theme park (‘Ornavik’ meaning the ‘river Orne bay’ in old Norse) located in the Beauregard domain in Hérouville-Saint-Clair (14).
Ornavik aims at promoting the history of the birth of Normandy through 3 main axes:
- Historical: by presenting 3 eras: Carolingian, Viking and Dukedom,
- Societal: by federating hundreds of Norman volunteers and local firms as well as people on professional retraining,
- Sustainable: by contributing to the strengthening of the links between humankind and nature.
EM Normandie takes part in the transmission of the history of its territory
As an Ornavik sponsor, EM Normandie contributes to the knowledge and transmission of the history of its native region. It also helps to turn Ornavik into an exceptional forum for scientific exchange on the Vikings while contributing to the national and international reputation of Normandy.
This action also partakes in the School’s Sustainable Development and Corporate Responsibility approach by supporting a project that respects both the environment and people, while allowing persons who are in need of social inclusion to join in the work on the site.
