Startup by EM Normandie: graduates enthused by the startup business
The number of EM Normandie graduates who embark on a business startup venture is rising fast, whether on graduation or after a few years of experience. These new entrepreneurs create startups in activities as varied as communication, professional exchange networks or catering.
Nicolas Wallyn Nommart (Class of 1989) has just launched NOMMART, a new internet website to help startup, product or concept project holders to give a name to their ventures and build up a brand strategy. He will join in to help design logotypes, graphic charters and signatures and give more clout to their image and communication. After starting his career in communication and advertising, he was an author and director for some 23 years.
Myriam Deschamps (Class of 1998) launched Feminalink, the first social network aimed at women. This medium will allow to join a community of ambitious and inspiring women, who by liaising with one another, will generate new professional opportunities, valorise their brands as employers and access those female organisations and networks they are interested in. Myriam has had an outstanding professional record so far as a specialist in human resources, in world famous companies such as Chanel, Chantelle, Christian Dior Couture.
Business Schools boost innovation and creation
Nicolas Chevalier (Class of 2013), aged 26, opened E-Commerce Nation a year ago. This is a collaborative platform for shopkeepers that compiles advice and best practices found on social networks to help them in the transition from traditional retailing to e-commerce. E-commerce Nation sets out to establish links between users, and posts contents with genuine added-value, new solutions and free resources, etc. This startup business, which sells some of its contents by subscription, now employs 5 people. To speed up his development, Nicolas is contemplating to raise funds.
Most recent creation among the « Startups by EM Normandie », the Batistin Burger was inaugurated in Le Havre on December 1st. Created by Boris Lombart, Cyriac Basille and Camille Tignol (Classes of 2015 and 2016), this café & restaurant has already attracted the attention of Fine American cuisine connoisseurs, with quality products, to be enjoyed on the spot as a take-away.
