3 questions to Dr Khaireddine Mouakhar, Head of the Bachelor en Management International Programme
Initial Education
To train operational executives who can work on the global scene, such is the objective of the Bachelor en Management International offered at EM Normandie.
A pronounced professionalisation bias and expatriation is the DNA of this programme accredited at Bac+3 (Undergraduate degree) by the French Ministry of National Education, and recognised as such by companies.
Here is a focus on the latest developments as presented by Dr Khaireddine Mouakhar, the Head of Programme.
1. You will be launching in September 2016 two new options – e-business development & car sales. Could you tell us the reasons for this selection?
"Our objective is to widen the range of offers in Year 3 in addition to the 2 we have currently (International Business & Logistique Internationale) to allow students to acquire advanced expertise in a target field with international dimension. To achieve this, we have analysed the needs of the market, our knowhow and our strengths. This led us to open the e-business development option in Le Havre (which is in keeping with our dynamic profile in the digital business sector, and the car sales option in Paris, which is the must-be area in the global automobile network, as a partnership with the Association Nationale pour la Formation Automobile. To increase the opportunities for our students, we have decided to offer these new specialisations on a cooperative basis, which constitutes a genuine springboard towards employment."
2. So far this programme had been exclusively open to students straight out of secondary education via the Atout+3 National Test Bank, but there is now a new route for accessing Year 3 directly. What are the objectives and modalities for this admission process ?
"We took the option of opening the admission process to holders of other degrees and diplomas in order to enrich the cohorts thanks to a diversity of backgrounds. A specific Admissions Test open to French and international students holding a 2 year degree was introduced last September : this allowed to welcome 26 students with mostly BTS (HnD), DUT and Bachelor diplomas and degrees."
3. Could you give us an Elevator Presentation of the Bachelor en Management ?
"If we go beyond the international and operational dimensions mentioned previously, what springs to mind right away is the cross-cultural element thanks to the cohort's diversity (23 % are international students this year), the differentiation niche specialisations offer, and the springboard effect after the programme, whether for a direct professional insertion, a continuation of studies or the starting of a business."
