EM Normandie’s Bachelor en Management International: the effectiveness of the programme confirmed

The French Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research (MENESR) has approved the favourable recommendations by the Commission d'Evaluation des Formations et Diplômes de Gestion (CEFDG) as regards the extension for another 5 years of the EM Normandie Bachelor-level accreditation (visa Bac+3) for its Bachelor en Management International . In its report, the CEFDG stressed the strong regional roots the School enjoys, and the relevance of the Bachelor to the needs of organisations in the territory, as a professionalisation programme that trains middle managers that are truly operational.

The Pedagogical Innovation culture of the Programme was also pointed out, thanks to La SmartEcole®, the digital and collaborative teaching scheme that is specific to the School, which allows students to become co-creators of knowledge, by capitalising on their agility of mind and their adaptation to digital tools.

Among the other strong points, the CEFDG also commended the creation in September 2016 of the E-Business Development Specialisation in Year 3 ( Développement d'e-business)  on a cooperative basis. This professionalising option meets the demands of the current switch to digital operations by training for positions such as Web-Marketer, Traffic-Manager, Web Referencer, Community Manager or even Digital Business Analyst.

Finally, the Commission pointed out the range of recruitment channels as a positive and differentiating factor.  In addition to a post-Baccalauréat admission via the  Atout+3  National Test Bank, the Bachelor can be accessed in Year 1 by foreign secondary education diploma holders, and in Year 3 by foreign holders of a two year diploma (BTS/DUT or equivalent, rated as 120 ECTS credits) via the  Pass-World Bachelor International Test Bank.

The Year 3 programme is also open to students, employees and job-seekers holding a two-year diploma or a baccalauréat with 3 years of professional experience.  In total, some 143 students are currently taking the programme in 2016-2017, to which one should add foreign non-degree exchange students who enhance the cross-cultural experience of cohorts.

New developments for the 2017-2018 Bachelor Programme

Years 1 and 3 will be taught exclusively in Le Havre to foster exchanges between cohorts and enhance the profile of the training offer. Two agreements have been recently signed with Osnabrück Hochschule (Germany) and Lillehammer University College (Norway) that will give students the opportunity to take their Year 3 in English with one of these institutions and be awarded a double-Bachelor's degree. As from September 2017, 15 places will be offered.

EM Normandie now offers some 30 partner universities to its Bachelor Programme students (Germany, Brazil, Canada, PRC, Korea, Spain, Japan, Mexico, USA…). This boosts further the international dimension of the programme, which is already a core component with the strong proportion of courses taught in English (up to 50% of the study path for students who are on the French track), whereas the International Business track is taught 100% in English with a full-year academic study stay in Year 2.
