Student Sustainable Development Week: EM Normandie in action!

School's life

From 25 to 31 March 2019, for this Student Sustainable Development Week, EM Normandie organised events about Sustainable Development (SD) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on its three campuses in Caen, Le Havre and Paris. Objectives: to raise students’ awareness of the stakes of SD and CSR, to mobilise their energies around concrete actions and to promote the engagement of Student Societies in those fields.

A week to discover, get informed, exchange and DO

Supported by the Link Office, the service in charge of student life and the EM Normandie SD and CSR Unit, students set up many actions: FoodTech tastings, Kahoot on Ocean Pollution, Clean Waste-to-Art Contest, Round Table on new Food Trends, Ethical Fashion Show, Talk on Waste Management, Introduction to Disabled Sports,  Do It Yourself Workshops, Distribution of Environmentally Responsible Products, Equipment Collection, TrashTag Challenge, organisation of Entretiens de l’Excellence to foster equal opportunity.…

‘Training tomorrow’s managers is above all educating responsible professionals, citizens of their society, keen to achieve the well-being of their teams and their environment. That is why EM Normandie gives pride of place in its academic input to such notions as Business Ethics, CSR, Green Business, Responsible Consumption or Benevolent Leadership. This SD and CSR Week focuses on this commitment and boosts those powerful messages’, Magvenn Poupart explains, as SD & CSR Project Executive for EM Normandie.

Responsible Manager Contest: one of the highlights in the SD & CSR Week

EM Normandie challenges its students from the  Programme Grande Ecole Year 3 and Bachelor's International Management Year 1 through the Responsible Manager Contest. Sponsored by the Global Compact France Group, with the collaboration of the Suez Group and support from the EM Normandie Foundation, the School challenged students to work in teams for several months on an analysis focused on the integration of SD Objectives defined by the UNO, within those companies which are committed to them. Following oral defence sessions which took place during the SD & CSR Week, Paris Campus Grande Ecole Programme students Ilan Chekroun, Salomé Cocotier-Chanabé, Solène Derozier, Clément Grébert and Charline Laffra, reached the first place on the podium for their innovative and realistic recommendations directed at VEOLIA and the great cohesion spirit of their team. .

A National Movement supported by REFEDD

The Student SD & CSR Week is a local event of the European Student SD Week organised by  Réseau Français des Etudiants pour le Développement Durable (REFEDD) with the support of  the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research & Innovation  and the Ministry of  Ecological Transition & Solidarity. This encourages institutions and their students every year to act during a week about SD.
